Hawkshead to Slaidburn

Due to the excessive exertions of mountain climbing the previous day Eddie altered the route to avoid a very hilly section (Note to self; Send Eddie mountaineering more often). Took the ferry again, this time in the opposite direction. Stopped for tea and cakes at Kirkby Lonsdale. Lunch was on Moorland approaching Bowland Forrest. Fatigue getting to us; actually fell asleep for an hour. Woke to find out I was sleeping close to sheep pooh, not sure if it was there before or not. Managed to take picture of Eddie asleep...Tee Hee. Difficult climb to top of undulating moors land. Arrived at Slaidburn early so had tea and cake at local eatery. Eddie had long awaited toastie (had been craving one for days). Shared hostel with a party of partially sighted cyclists (It's OK, they were on tandems with sighted riders). Eddie used the free time to give his bike a clean (Not really dirty but he had brought all the cleaning kit with him so thought it would be a shame not to use it). Kindly cleaned the chain on mine also. Had meal at pub across road from hostel.
